Athlete's Foot

Athlete’s Foot is a common fungal foot condition. It usually happens when your feet are damp for a long time, often due to sweaty socks or tight-fitting shoes. It doesn’t tend to get better by itself, but can easily be treated with antifungal medications.

You might have Athlete's Foot if you have:

Itchy, red, or scaly skin on your feet
Peeling or cracking skin on the soles or sides of your feet
Burning sensation or stinging between the toes
  • High levels of activity that cause sweaty feet
  • Wearing tight-fitting or poorly ventilated shoes
  • Walking barefoot in an area with infected people
  • Compromised immune system
  • Itchy, red, or scaly skin on the feet, particularly between the toes
  • Peeling or cracking skin on the soles or sides of the feet
  • Burning sensation or stinging between the toes
  • Blisters or ulcers
  • Unpleasant foot odour
  • Keep your feet clean and dry, ensuring to thoroughly dry between the toes
  • Change socks and shoes regularly, opting for breathable materials
  • Apply over-the-counter antifungal creams or powders as directed
  • Avoid walking barefoot in communal areas
  • Use separate towels and avoid sharing footwear with others
