Raised BP can be asymptomatic, however in the background it can be doing damage to the fine vascular structures affecting the eyes, Heart, Blood vessels and Kidneys which can be irreversible.

Hence it is essential to have your BP monitored annually especially after the age of 40 yr or if you are symptomatic or 'At Risk' from a younger age. 

You can self refer to Jaysons Pharmacy or your GP may ever refer for your regular monitoring to us.

This is a private (paid for) service for a full assessment of your cholesterol levels and advice on what your results mean and what changes you can make

For Fasting Cholesterol Testing Service. Do not eat anything after 10.00pm but can drink water until the test is done the next day in the morning.

Gives Total Cholesterol Results but not the split between different types of Cholesterols.

Under the new NHS service, Patients do not need to go back to surgeries to receive their repeat supply of their Oral Contraceptives. 

Patient can just pop into Jaysons Pharmacy or book an appointment at Jaysons Pharmacy and we will do the rest.

Patients needing to change their Oral contraceptives or start on Oral Contraceptives also don't need to attend the surgery. Again, they can either just pop in or book an appointment at Jaysons Pharmacy

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are very common. They can be painful and uncomfortable but they usually pass within a few days or can be easily treated with a course of antibiotics.

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) affect your urinary tract, including your bladder (cystitis), urethra (urethritis) or kidneys (kidney infection). UTIs may be treated with antibiotics, but they're not always needed.

Symptoms of a urinary tract infection (UTI) may include:

- pain or a burning sensation when peeing (dysuria)
- needing to pee more often than usual
- needing to pee more often than usual during the night (nocturia)
- needing to pee suddenly or more urgently than usual
- pee that looks cloudy
- blood in your pee
- lower tummy pain or pain in your back, just under the ribs
- a high temperature, or feeling hot and shivery
- a very low temperature below 36C
-Your pee may also be dark or smell.

Pharmacy first and Extended Care Service allows FREE access to advice/treatment for a range of conditions by one of our trained pharmacists. The receptionist can simply digitally refer you to our Pharmacy.

We follow this up with assessment, advice and treatment as appropriate.

Gynae/Thrush - Cystitis, Vaginal Discharge, Vaginal Itch or soreness

Sinusitis is common after a cold or flu or it can be secondary to seasonal allergy or perennial rhinitis.

The main symptoms of sinusitis include:

pain, swelling and tenderness around your cheeks, eyes or forehead

EPS makes it possible for your prescriptions to be sent electronically to the pharmacy or dispenser of your choice. Choosing a pharmacy or dispensing appliance contractor to process your EPS prescription is called nomination.
