Maswell Park Pharmacy offers the NHS Hypertension-Case Finding Service. If you are over 40 you and do not have a current diagnosis of hypertension or a related condition, you are eligible for a free blood pressure check. You are also eligible if you are under 40 but have a recognized family history of hypertension.

Persistent high blood pressure can lead to heightened risk of several serious health conditions including but not limited to heart disease, strokes and heart failure.

The morning after pill as commonly referred is an emergency hormonal contraceptive pill which can be taken to follow unprotected sex to avoid pregnancy. It is recommended to take the pill as soon as possible after the sexual intercourse. if you require the pill, one of our pharmacists will carry out a short assessment by asking you to fill in a short questionnaire to establish if the treatment is suitable for you.
There are two drugs available in the uk without a prescription that are used as an emergency hormonal contraceptives (EHC). Levonelle one-step and Ellaone. Levonelle can be used for no longer than 72 hours of unprotected sex, Ellaone is to be taken no longer than 120 hours after unprotected sex.


Protect yourself and your loved ones this winter season against flu with our private and NHS flu jab services. the flu vaccination service is usually available between September and March.

This is a private (paid for) service from your Pharmacist for one dose of hepatitis A vaccine.

The NHS free flu jab service provides free Flu vaccination to these specific patient groups. those eligible for the free flu vaccination include the over 65s, pregnant women, and those with certain medical conditions. our pharmacists will check your eligibility for the free flu vaccination during your consultation

Pneumonia vaccine, protects against serious and potentially fatal pneumococcal infections. unlike the flu vaccination, you can get the pneumococcal vaccination at any time of year.
We offer private pneumonia vaccine and also nhs pneumonia vaccine
If you are high risk and usually get the pneumococcal vaccine on the nhs. these will include:
Babies under 2 years old
Adults over 65 years old
People with long-term health conditions, like chronic kidney or heart disease.
Private pneumonia vaccine (£35):

All patients over 2 years of age, who have not previously been immunised with pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (ppv23).

The needle exchange service allows people who inject intravenous drugs obtain clean sterile needles and syringes and safely dispose off the used needles and syringes. This is an nhs service placed to prevent people from sharing or reusing needles or other devices. it also reduces drug related harm and the transmission of blood borne bacterial and viral infections such as Hepatitis B and C or HIV.

This is a private (paid for) service from your Pharmacist for one typhoid injection or three capsules – both offer protection against typhoid for three years.

Private Seasonal Influenza (Flu) vaccination is available every year to help protect those who are not eligible for the service through the NHS 

This is a private (paid for) service from your Pharmacist for one dose of hepatitis B vaccine.

If you're heading to a high risk country, it's good to be informed about meningococcal ACWY.
For a free assessment, expert advice, and access to vaccinations and anti-malarials, book an appointment online.  Ideally, this should be six to eight weeks before departure, but it’s never too late to seek advice if you're leaving sooner. Please note the service is only available to those who travel abroad, and this vaccination can only be offered to those who it is suitable for, who are travelling to an area where meningitis ACWY is recommended to protect travellers.

This is a private (paid for) service from your Pharmacist for one dose of DTP vaccine – you only need one injection as a booster.
