Cholera is an infection that can cause severe diarrhoea. It's not found in the UK, but there's a very small risk of contracting it while travelling in some parts of the world. This vaccination is for pre-exposure immunisation against cholera.

Adults and children over 6 years: 2 doses (given 1–6 weeks apart; the course should be completed 1 week before travelling) — protects for up to 2 years. £78 for 2 doses

Children 2 to 5 years: 3 doses (given 1–6 weeks apart; the course should be completed 1 week before travelling) — protects for up to 6 months. £156 for 3 doses

Human papillomaviruses (HPVs) are a group of common infections that can affect the skin and moist membranes lining parts of the body, such as the mouth, throat, genital area, and anus. There are over 100 types of HPV, some of which can cause warts and verruca’s, while others increase the risk of developing various types of cancer.
HPV vaccination is available for children and adults from the age of 9 years old. There are different types of HPV vaccines, and the most suitable vaccine and dosage schedule can vary.

Hepatitis  A is a highly infectious virus that can cause inflammation of the liver.
The virus is transmitted through ingesting contaminated food and water or by direct contact with an infectious person. 
Someone with hepatitis A is most infectious from around 2 weeks before symptoms appear until about a week after symptoms first develop.
The vaccine (age of 1 years and older). protects individual for one year. Only one dose required for immunity; ideally 2 weeks before departure, but can be given up to one day before departure. Then a booster at 6-12 months will provide immunity for up to 25 years in adults, and 14-20 years in children.

Hepatitis B is an infection of the liver caused by a virus that's spread through blood and body fluids.
The virus can be spread in the following ways: unprotected sex, exposure to contaminated needles, accessing medical or dental care, needing emergency treatment, travelling specifically for medical treatment, or participating in contact sports. Long-term travel can also increase the risk.
Symptoms more commonly occur in adults than in children and may include jaundice, loss of appetite, fever, and abdominal pain. Persistent infection may lead to liver failure or liver cancer.
The vaccination (for ages 9 years and older) will help to protect individuals for up to 20–30 years.

Japanese encephalitis (JE) is a mosquito-borne viral encephalitis caused by a flavivirus. JE cannot be transmitted from person to person. Symptoms of JE include fever, headache, and confusion, and in some cases, also seizures, stiff neck, inability to speak, tremor, or paralysis. In symptomatic cases requiring hospitalisation. It can take several months to make a full recovery, and up to half of those who do survive are left with permanent brain damage. The JE vaccine (aged 2 months and older) course should be completed at least 1 week before travel. Two doses are required, with an option to get a booster later if needed. Vaccination is done either on days 0 and 28 or days 0 and 7. Contact our pharmacist for more information. £110 per dose

The MMR vaccine protects against three serious infections: measles, mumps, and rubella. These infections spread easily between people and can cause severe complications, including meningitis, blindness, and hearing loss.
Two doses of the MMR vaccine are required over a lifetime to ensure full protection against all three viruses. This vaccine is suitable for individuals aged 12 months and older. For more information on the dosing schedule, please contact our pharmacist. The cost is £60 per dose.


Jet lag, also called jet lag disorder, is a temporary sleep problem that can affect anyone who takes long-haul flights across several time zones. Jet lag can cause daytime fatigue, an unwell feeling, trouble staying alert, and stomach problems. Although symptoms are temporary, they can affect your comfort while on vacation or during a business trip.
In this consultation, the pharmacist can advise on ways to reduce or prevent jet lag and prescribe melatonin modified-release for ages 18 years and older.

The Meningitis ACWY vaccine provides protection against four types of bacteria that can cause meningitis: meningococcal groups A, C, W-135, and Y. Meningitis is a serious infection of the lining of the brain and spinal cord and can also cause infections of the blood. It is typically transmitted through close contact via nasal or throat droplets, such as coughing, sneezing, or kissing.
This vaccine is recommended for individuals aged 2 years and over who are at risk of meningococcal diseases caused by Neisseria meningitidis groups A, C, W-135, and Y.

Herpes simplex virus infection causes recurring episodes of small, painful, fluid-filled blisters on the skin, mouth, lips (cold sores), eyes, or genitals. This highly contagious viral infection is spread by direct contact with sores or, sometimes, contact with an affected area even when no sores are present.

During this consultation, you will be offered appropriate symptom relief and treatment for herpes simplex virus infections affecting the lips or face (herpes labialis). Depending on individual symptoms and age (2 years and older), a pharmacist can prescribe aciclovir tablets or solution.

Period delay tablets can temporarily postpone your period for particular situations, such as holidays, exams, weddings, or other special occasions.
In this consultation, depending on your medical background and suitability, the pharmacist will be able to prescribe Norethisterone for those aged 16 years and older.

Rabies is an acute viral encephalomyelitis caused by members of the Lyssavirus genus. It is transmitted to humans, usually by a bite or scratch from an infected animal. On rare occasions, transmission of the virus has occurred through body fluids from an infectious animal coming into contact with an individual's mucous membranes.
The virus attacks the central nervous system, causing progressive damage to the brain and spinal cord. Once symptoms are present, rabies is almost always fatal.
Individuals of any age are required to receive a full course (3 doses) of the rabies vaccine. The cost is £96 per dose. Please ask the pharmacist for more information.


Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a major respiratory virus that is particularly common during the winter months, typically from November to February. It infects the nose, throat, lungs, and breathing passages, leading to respiratory infections that can be severe, especially in vulnerable populations.
Individuals aged 60 years and older are eligible to receive the RSV vaccination. For more information, please contact our pharmacist.
