This vending machine (or prescription collection point) serves as an extra pair of hands to the pharmacy team. Prescriptions are prepared and bagged as normal but instead of waiting on a shelf to be handed out, they are loaded in bulk into this unit. At the point an individual bag is loaded, the patient in question is sent an SMS alert to tell them their medicines are ready to be collected. The text message contains a unique six-digit code and information on how long they have to pick up their medicines. Using the touchscreen built into the Pharmaself24, the patient then enters their PIN code, makes payment where required and then receives their bagged medicines. It’s an entirely familiar experience, very similar to using a drinks vending machine or cashpoint.

Earwax can be removed using an electronic machine that pumps water into the ear at a controlled pressure, known as ear irrigation . Ear irrigation is an effective method of removing earwax. Ear drops should be used to soften the wax before irrigation, either immediately before or for up to five days before the procedure.How much does ear wax removal cost?
Professional ear wax removal costs £50. During the appointment, we will remove wax in both ears, check your overall ear and hearing health and advise on ear care.If only one ear needs to be treated, we will charge £35.

This private (paid for) service is provided by our pharmacist. The small blood sample is taken by finger prick and sent away to our partnering lab for results, so if you are worried about any of the following health conditions - cholesterol, diabetes, thyroid, heart, kidney, or liver we can take a small blood sample to check your levels. The lab can also check your vitamin levels, sports fitness levels and do a general well woman/man service and many more. 

We provide a blood testing clinic every weekday from 8.30 - 12.30pm and 2:15 - 5:40pm (except Thursday afternoons.) It is preferable to book an appointment to guarantee a slot, but drop ins are available also.We advise that drop ins are better seen from 10am onwards as most slots before this time are usually booked in advance.

We follow up on certain new medicines that you may have been prescribed for the first time to ensure that you are kept fully informed about then and also to help with any advice you may need .This helps to ensure that you carry on wherever possible taking these meds or alternatively advise you stop or see the GP if we feel the need to do so.

Pharmacy First is an NHS service that encourages patients to visit their local pharmacy first instead of going to their GP for a range of conditions which can be assessed and treated by pharmacists.

The conditions that are covered and the eligible patients can access free advice and treatment for includes (but is not limited to): Urinary Tract Infection - for women age 16 to under 65 years), Impetigo and Infected nappy rash.
