This vending machine (or prescription collection point) serves as an extra pair of hands to the pharmacy team. Prescriptions are prepared and bagged as normal but instead of waiting on a shelf to be handed out, they are loaded in bulk into this unit. At the point an individual bag is loaded, the patient in question is sent an SMS alert to tell them their medicines are ready to be collected. The text message contains a unique six-digit code and information on how long they have to pick up their medicines. Using the touchscreen built into the Pharmaself24, the patient then enters their PIN code, makes payment where required and then receives their bagged medicines. It’s an entirely familiar experience, very similar to using a drinks vending machine or cashpoint.

Typically, the main causes of ear blockages is the build up of ear wax. Ear wax is perfectly natural, but it is often uncomfortable and even painful when impacted. Earwax can be removed using an electronic machine that pumps water into the ear at a controlled pressure, known as ear irrigation . Ear irrigation is an effective method of removing earwax. Ear drops should be used to soften the wax before irrigation, either immediately before or for up to five days before the procedure.How much does ear wax removal cost?
Professional ear wax removal costs £50. During the appointment, we will remove wax in both ears, check your overall ear and hearing health and advise on ear care.If only one ear needs to be treated, we will charge £35.

High blood pressure (hypertension) affects 1 in 3 adults in the UK. If left untreated it can cause heart problems, strokes and damage to vital organs. That’s where we can help, why not visit us and have one of our trained pharmacy staff members check your blood pressure for free.

We will shortly be resuming Blood pressure checks for our patients once the current pandemic issues can be configured.

This private (paid for) service is provided by our pharmacist. The small blood sample is taken by finger prick and sent away to our partnering lab for results, so if you are worried about any of the following health conditions - cholesterol, diabetes, thyroid, heart, kidney, or liver we can take a small blood sample to check your levels. The lab can also check your vitamin levels, sports fitness levels and do a general well woman/man service and many more. 

We provide a blood testing clinic every weekday from 8.30 - 12.30pm and 2:15 - 5:40pm (except Thursday afternoons.) It is preferable to book an appointment to guarantee a slot, but drop ins are available also.We advise that drop ins are better seen from 10am onwards as most slots before this time are usually booked in advance.

Seasonal Influenza (Flu) vaccination is available every year to help protect both adults and children at risk of flu and its complications.

This service usually operates from Early September to March of the following year.We advise that all customers wear either masks or face coverings during these booking slots.We offer both Free NHS Flu vaccinations and also a private flu service.

We follow up on certain new medicines that you may have been prescribed for the first time to ensure that you are kept fully informed about then and also to help with any advice you may need .This helps to ensure that you carry on wherever possible taking these meds or alternatively advise you stop or see the GP if we feel the need to do so.

We will shortly be starting our UTI clinics  instore. This will save invaluable time and be a convenient feature provided at our Pharmacy.
