Pharmacy First is an NHS service that encourages patients to visit their local pharmacy first instead of going to their GP for a range of conditions which can be assessed and treated by pharmacists.

The conditions that are covered and the eligible patients can access free advice and treatment for includes (but is not limited to): Urinary Tract Infection - for women age 16 to under 65 years), Impetigo and Infected nappy rash.

This is an NHS Scotland service to support patients taking long term medicines. In the first instance patients need to register with their local pharmacy and in the future their GP may issue a serial prescription for up to 12 months cutting the need to order your prescriptions routinely.

Pharmacy First Plus is an extension of the standard NHS Scotland Pharmacy First Service. Enabling us to support our local GP's our in-house Pharmacist Independent Prescribers are able to treat more acute conditions such as: Cellulitis, Sore throat, Ear Ache etc.
