Pharmacy First is an NHS service that encourages patients to visit their local pharmacy first instead of going to their GP for a range of conditions which can be assessed and treated by pharmacists.

The conditions that are covered and the eligible patients can access free advice and treatment for includes (but is not limited to): Urinary Tract Infection - for women age 16 to under 65 years), Impetigo and Infected nappy rash.

Smoking Cessation enables you to gain advice on the correct use of Nicotine Replacement Therapy and provides behavioural support to help you give up smoking.

If you are planning on travelling outside of the UK, you may need to be vaccinated against some of the serious diseases found in other parts of the world. Please contact us to confirm your specific needs.

This private (paid for) service is provided by our trained staff. The small venous or capillary blood sample is sent away to our partnering lab for results, so if you are worried about any of the following health conditions - cholesterol, diabetes, thyroid, or heart we can help you to check. The chickenpox (varicella) vaccine is a series of two shots that can protect nearly everyone from contracting chickenpox. The first should be given at the age of 12-18 months and the second shot should be given between 4-6 years of age. Older children and adults should have two shots as well, with the second shot occurring at least 28 days after the first.

Seasonal Influenza (Flu) vaccination is available every year to help protect both adults and children at risk of flu and its complications.

The Gluten Free Food Service allows patients to self-manage their gluten free prescriptions with the assistance of their community pharmacy. Patients eligible for the service will be identified by their GP and referred to their pharmacy for care.

Pharmacy First allows patients to access FREE advice and / or treatment for Impetigo for any patient over the age of 2.

This is an NHS Scotland service to support patients taking long term medicines. In the first instance patients need to register with their local pharmacy and in the future their GP may issue a serial prescription for up to 12 months cutting the need to order your prescriptions routinely.

We are able to prepare compliance aids for patients following discussion with your GP and a requirement for need. If you or a family member need a compliance aid please contact the pharmacy by telephone.

Pharmacy First allows FREE advice/treatment for the management of Shingles in patients aged 18 or over by one of our trained pharmacists.
