Don't let chickenpox get the better of your or your loved ones. Here at Egerton Pharmacy we can vaccinate against the varicella zoster virus which causes chickenpox. Chickenpox is a common, usually mild, virus spread easily when in close contact with someone with the infection. Although extremely common with children, anyone can be at risk so it's best to be covered. The vaccination is administered in two doses, 4-8 weeks apart depending on the brand used. There are currently 2 chickenpox vaccine brands available, VARIVAX and VARILRIX. Only £65 per dose. The chickenpox vaccine is not part of the routine childhood vaccination schedule but is suitable from the age of 9 months.
