High Blood Pressure
Hypertension, or high blood pressure, is a common health issue that can lead to serious and potentially fatal complications. Blood pressure is generally considered high when it’s measured at 140/90mmHg or above, however this increases as you get older (above 80).
You may have high blood pressure if you have:
General discomfort or uneasiness
Chest pain or tightness
Persistent headaches or dizziness
- Unhealthy diet high in sodium and saturated fats
- Lack of physical activity
- Genetic predisposition
- Chronic stress or anxiety
- Frequent headaches, especially in the morning
- Dizziness or feeling faint
- Blurred vision
- Shortness of breath
- Adopt a balanced diet low in sodium and high in fruits and vegetables
- Engage in regular physical activity
- Monitor blood pressure regularly
- Limit alcohol intake and stop smoking
- Practice stress-reducing activities such as meditation or yoga
