If you’ve been advised to lose weight by your GP, or you simply want to drop a few pounds, it can be difficult to know where to turn. We understand that with a brand-new diet, or muscle-clad guru hidden around every corner waiting to get their teeth into you, the idea of losing weight can become a bit overwhelming.
Especially when all you’re really looking for is a source of information, and maybe a helping hand that you can trust… so what if the NHS had a weight loss programme, and what if you could enrol at your local pharmacy?
Let’s take a look at how you can lose weight with the NHS.
NHS Weight Loss Plan app (iOS/Android)
This amazing app helps its users to develop healthier eating habits, get more active and to lose weight all in one.
When you first open the app, you’ll be invited to calculate your BMI by inputting your height, weight and age. This will help the NHS decide what your daily calorie intake range should be, and how much weight you should plan to lose over the 12-week plan.
You’ll be able to choose a goal to set within that range, so if you’re hoping to lose as much weight as possible, you’ll be able to choose the least calories the app suggests – while still being a healthy, achievable amount for you to consume.
