Sore Throat
Sore throats are very common, and tend to get better by themselves within a week. Sometimes they can be a symptom of a more serious condition.
You might have sore throat if you have:
A dry, scratchy and painful throat
Pain when swallowing
Redness at the back of your mouth
- The common cold
- The flu (influenza)
- Smoking cigarettes
Other causes of sore throat include:
- Laryngitis
- Strep throat
- Tonsillitis
- Glandular fever

- Bad breath
- A mild but painful cough
- Get plenty of rest
- Drink plenty of water
- Gargle warm, salty water
- Avoid smoking
- Eat food that’s easy to swallow
