Al-Shafa launched on Healthera in February 2020. They provide an incredibly high standard of health care services to locals as well as providing multiple facilities including travel vaccination services, diabetes testing, blood pressure monitoring, electronic prescription services, and much more. Their branches can be found in Birmingham, Walsall, Gloucester, and Leeds. Al-Shafa pharmacies remain open late at night as they believe in providing services when others may not be available.
Interview with Al-Shafa pharmacy director, Mohammed Ahmed
Healthera: Why did you join Healthera?
Mohammed: We wanted to think about future proofing the pharmacy. I’m quite tech savvy myself and felt this was the direction we should be moving in.
Healthera: What changes have you seen since joining?
Mohammed: A lot less phone calls!
Healthera: What would you consider the main benefit of being part of Healthera?
Mohammed: We had a great deal of phone calls before and now we can deal with them through the messaging system even when we are closed! Just makes life easier for us in general at the pharmacy.
Healthera: How do you interact with your patients through Healthera? Do you use calls? Or is it mainly done through the in-app messenger?
Mohammed: We usually use the in app messenger. We have found it really helpful when we don’t always have time to speak on the phone. This feature alone is making us a lot more productive.
Healthera: How has COVID-19 affected your business?
Mohammed: People aren’t going out at the moment and that has affected us. A positive is that with Healthera, they are able to order through the app and still communicate with us regularly through the instant chat function.
