Healthera Pay is coming – the secure and fast payment method designed for UK patients.
As a response to overwhelming demand from patients and pharmacies, we are now ready to roll out a mobile payment feature to complete the prescription ordering process. Our long anticipated mobile payment feature is finally ready!
Within the next 3 months, patients will be able to pay for all repeat prescriptions via the Healthera App. This feature will simplify the prescription ordering journey for patients, and reduce processing time and inaccuracies, making it beneficial to both patients and pharmacists.
As always, we aim to ensure there is complete transparency between us and you, so we have anticipated a few questions you may have about this new feature and answered them for you below. However, please feel free to contact us if you have any more.
How does this work?
If you have requested prescriptions via the Healthera App, you’ll know that the current payment process entails using a separate payment process that is specific to the pharmacy. You’ll be pleased to know that this will no longer be the case!
After patients have selected their medication(s) and their delivery method etc. Those who pay for prescriptions will now be able to make a payment securely through the Healthera app using their credit or debit cards.
One of the best parts is you will not be charged until your medication has been approved by your GP and dispensed by your nominated pharmacy, ensuring that you will lose absolutely nothing.
Why should I be happy about this? – For Patients
When you have an app on your phone, you want the app to do everything you need it to. With this feature, that’s exactly what will happen. Every single step of the ordering process will be done in the palm of your hand.
You now also have the comfort in knowing how you will be paying for your prescriptions ahead of time, and that your money will be going through a secure and safe process.
Why should I be happy about this? – For Pharmacies
When adopting the Healthera Pay feature, you will be given access to a system that allows you to keep track of all payments. This will reduce discrepancies, help you plan, secure your payments, and save you a significant amount of time.
In-app payment eliminates the need to handle cash and allows you to manage your own payment platform while removing any associated complications, such as issuing a refund. This can now be done easily at no extra cost through the Healthera app.
This feature will also allow you to provide a customer experience that your patients will expect. Allowing patients to use the same platform for ordering and for payments has proven to increase satisfaction, trust and reassurance regarding payment security. These are a few of the main drivers for platform businesses adopting in-app payment. This is also an important step towards providing more e-commerce offerings for your pharmacy, which will be rolled out in the next few months.
Will this feature be available for all patients?
For the time being, in-app payment is subject to pharmacies signing up to accept payment via the Healthera app. However, we are working towards releasing this to all patients, so if it’s not available at your chosen pharmacy, bear with us! It’s on its way.
When your pharmacy is enabled, you don’t have to do anything. When you next order, simply follow the steps in-app to pay for your prescriptions.
When will this feature be available?
We will officially launch Healthera Pay next month! Pharmacies will be able to sign up as soon as we launch, allowing patients to start paying for prescriptions via the app.
After the initial launch, Healthera Pay will continue to be rolled out over the next few months until it is available to all patients.
