We are delighted to welcome Dr. Chris Doran to our Board of Directors. As an Entrepreneur in Residence at Cambridge Enterprise, Chris is the new representative for the University of Cambridge on Healthera’s Board. Chris replaces Tania Balsa, our former University Director, who has decided to return to Spain after her 4 years of service on Healthera’s board.
A physicist by background, Chris brings over 15 years of start-up senior leadership and board-level experience in the technology sector. In 2005 he founded Geomerics and served as its CEO and COO, taking the company throughto its acquisition by Arm in 2013. During his spell at Arm Chris served as Directorof Research Collaborations and Entrepreneur in Residence. Geomerics’ graphics technology was developed for the games industry and was ultimately deployed in 100s of games including FIFA, Star Wars Battlefront and Overwatch.
Chris is also a Director of Studies in Physics for Sidney Sussex College in Cambridge, and prior to founding Geomerics he held numerous research posts, including an EPSRC Advanced Fellowship and an RSE Enterprise Fellowship. He is the author of many research papers and a book on Geometric Algebra.
Commenting on his appointment, Chris Doran stated that “It is exciting to see how the concept developed by Healthera has evolved over the past few years and its impressive commercial execution in the pharmacy and consumer health market. I look forward to supporting the management team through the next phase of growth.”
