Background
Based in the rural village of Horsmonden, Heath pharmacy had built a strong reputation locally. With steady prescription volume and a dedicated team, it had a solid foundation but faced a clear ceiling when it came to expanding beyond its immediate community.
Owner Oladunni Sanni recognised the need to diversify and create a more resilient income stream, without adding clinical burden or increasing staff workload.
The Challenge
Like many community pharmacies, Heath Pharmacy didn’t have an independent prescriber or access to PGDs. This meant they couldn’t offer private medicines on their own and were missing out on a valuable new service gaining momentum within the industry.
The team had the capacity and capability to fulfil more prescriptions, but no route into private healthcare that didn’t require investment in infrastructure, systems, or patient marketing.
Our Approach
Healthera partnered with the pharmacy through Healthera Clinic, allowing them to start fulfilling private treatment prescriptions without a heavy upfront investment.
All orders were reviewed and prescribed by Healthera’s in-house clinical team, then automatically routed to the pharmacy for fulfilment. The process required no marketing or outreach from the pharmacy team and each order included a fulfilment fee for dispensing and delivery.
This model enabled the pharmacy to serve patients across the UK without changing their operations or adding new services in-house.
