Background
Darling’s Pharmacy is a well-established pharmacy group with a strong local presence in South Tyneside. They had put an initial investment into a professional, modern website to reflect their reputation in the community.
The site attracted a steady stream of visitors each month and served as a key touchpoint for patients looking for basic information such as opening hours, services offered and contact details.
While the pharmacy recognised the website’s value as a tool for community engagement, the site had yet to be equipped with any functions to support orders or digital transactions.
The Challenge
Despite its polished design, the website had limited functionality. Patients couldn’t place repeat prescription orders, book services, or browse products online. Instead, even simple requests had to be made over the phone, which placed unnecessary strain on staff and was an inconvenience for patients.
With more people turning to digital-first healthcare, the pharmacy recognised the need to evolve.
Our Approach
Healthera worked with the pharmacy to integrate digital functionality directly into their existing website using the Healthera Plus plan. Within just 48 hours, their patients could:
- Order NHS repeat prescriptions online
- Book pharmacy services at their convenience
- Shop for over-the-counter (OTC) items
This upgraded user experience turned the pharmacy’s static website into a fully interactive patient hub, eliminating the need for a full website rebuild. All patient activity synced seamlessly with Healthera Connect, enabling the pharmacy team to manage orders, messages, and bookings in one place.
“We added the link to our website and started sending slips out to patients with their unique QR code. This has helped improve our numbers ordering through Healthera as well as improving efficiencies across our branches.”
